feelings-guessing game

Game: Guess How I Feel

Goal: Students will be able to ask questions about feelings when in a situation.

After getting tired of searching online what games to play in the classroom, i decided to make my own game. I purchased ESLkidstuff lesson plans and materials for a cheap price and it gave me a lot of ideas. Here's one of them.

First: knowing the target vocab
Feelings: happy, angry, sad, sleepy, scared, hungry
Situations: bedtime, sunny, noisy, rainy, stormy, lunchtime

Second: the sentence structure
 Do you feel _____ when it's ____.
(Do you feel happy when it's sunny?)

I feel happy when it's sunny./ I am happy when it's sunny.

I prepared some pictures of the target vocab for the students to choose from when they make questions.

Then I made 2 sets of small flashcards of the target vocab and put the feelings cards in one box and the situation cards in the other box.
the feelings cards are in the "I am" box and the situation cards are in the "when" box
I also prepared a board like this. The important thing is that the students must not see what card the person in front is holding.

it should look like this

First, you pick randomly from the cards in the "I am" box and one from the "when box".
Then tell the students that they have to guess what feeling and what situation you have on the board by asking you a question.
Questions will be like " Do you feel happy when it's rainy?"/ "Do you feel sad when it is noisy?" and so on.
Sometimes questions don't make sense like " Do you feel hungry when it's noisy but it's okay.
The goal here is for them to practice the structure and familiarize with the target vocab by repetition.
It will take a while until a student can guess it right. When someone does, it's his time to pick randomly from the cards and have his/her classmates guess.
